I put out a request to my work colleagues for old t-shirts and got bags and bags of them. I was going to use them all to make another t-shirt rug but after seeing this tutorial on Instructables for t-shirt necklaces I had to make one of them as well.
It was so easy! Took all of 10 mins. I really like it. Think I need to make a few more in different colours.

Gorgeous! What a great idea. I love that it took only 10 minutes - thats my kind of craft :-)
I love it! Beautiful.
I picked up a DIY t-shirt craft book at a bazaar last winter. Generation T. Despite eager intentions I still haven't used it yet! I'd be happy to lend it long term if you're interested.
It looks like the site has some great projects as well. Fun!
Thanks Tricia! I totally agree - 10 min crafts are where it's at. :)
Thanks Amber! That is a good book huh? My friend Laura lent it to me a few months ago and I also have been letting it gather dust. I need to bust it out and make one of their cool designs. :)
ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I like this!!!!
Kpoo - you and me - craft day. That's all I'm gonna say. :)
So pretty and creative! I'm still hoping to make a purse out of old t-shirts from that book. Maybe the 3 of us should have a crafty day in September after all our canning is done?
Laura, you are on for craft day. :-)
I'm going to make this t-shirt dress that I found on your Tweetstream:

I already have some awesome old t-shirts!
This was JUST featured in the latest Body + Soul magazine. I swear I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't your picture (and maybe your article) - since I had seen it on your blog first months ago.
Maybe we'll see alot of these popping up this year. : )
Love the inspiring posts - from crafty to homey!!
